Powering New York’s Economy: Con Edison’s 2025 Economic Impact Report

Flip a switch in New York, and the light comes on. Almost no one thinks twice about it. But that reliability powers an economy.

HR&A is proud to have partnered with Con Edison on its 2025 Economic Impact Report:

→ $24.8 billion in economic output, about 1% of New York State’s GDP
→ 39,700 jobs supported statewide
→ Nearly $2 billion in contracts with New York State businesses

We have measured Con Edison’s impact since 2021, and the trend is clear. For every Con Edison job, the company’s activity supports another 1.8 jobs across the state. And Con Edison customers experience outages about eight times less often than customers elsewhere in the state and country.
