Mariel brings a technical foundation in construction and engineering to her work in affordable housing finance. She helps clients structure and execute transactions that expand access to affordable homes.
Mariel started her career as a project engineer on commercial and public construction projects across the Southwest and Mid-Atlantic before moving into a project management role at TRC Construction Services, where she redesigned the firm’s cost estimating system and trained a team of engineers in Mysore, India to implement it. She then applied her technical and financial skills at Change All Souls Housing Corporation in Washington, DC, underwriting LIHTC acquisition-rehab transactions and working closely with the tenant association of a large Section 8 property to improve conditions and property performance.

- Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Real Estate Finance from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business, where she was a full-tuition Forté Fellow.
