Whether advising on the Hudson Yards Infrastructure Financing Strategy, leading climate adaptation projects in South Africa, or delivering complex infrastructure projects for transit agencies like the NYC MTA, Austin Cap Metro or CT DOT, Shuprotim helps clients turn ambitious visions into implementable strategies that deliver lasting impact.
Shuprotim has guided some of the world’s most complex infrastructure and development projects. He advised in structuring a public-private partnership for the Salesforce Transit Center, a transformative transportation hub in San Francisco. His international work includes leading the implementation of the first phase of Konza Technology City in Kenya, an ambitious smart city project designed to position Kenya as a regional technology leader. These projects demonstrate his ability to navigate complex regulatory environments while balancing public benefits with private sector viability.
Shuprotim leads comprehensive economic development planning for cities and regions seeking to strengthen their economies and create opportunity for residents. He developed the Envision Cambridge citywide plan, guiding one of the nation’s most dynamic innovation economies. He partners with Empire State Development to advance economic development strategies throughout New York State, supporting statewide workforce development, downtown revitalization, and regional growth initiatives. His neighborhood-scale work includes the North Omaha Innovation District Strategy, demonstrating his ability to foster economic opportunity in underinvested communities. He also leads blue economy initiatives across Rhode Island, Boston, and Long Island, helping coastal communities leverage maritime assets for sustainable economic growth.
As a leader in transportation and transit-oriented development, Shuprotim has completed value capture projects that leverage infrastructure investments to generate sustainable financing and community benefits. His transportation work includes projects in Ankara, Turkey, Costa Rica, the New York metro area, and Austin, Texas, demonstrating his ability to adapt value capture strategies to diverse regulatory environments and market conditions while maximizing public benefit from transit investments.
Shuprotim’s international experience includes developing comprehensive real estate strategies across multiple continents. He contributed to the IDB Real Estate Development Playbook and has advised on urban development strategies in Colombia, Mexico, and Turkey, bringing global best practices to local market conditions.
Shuprotim holds a Master’s Degree in History from Columbia University and the London School of Economics.
